Does anyone have a quick, easy, and light recipe for tilapia??

I used to make this as a special when I was a chef.

You will need: 2 tilapia filets, some fine breadcrumbs, mayonnaise, lemon juice and zest, minced garlic, spring greens and olive oil, and salt and pepper.

This recipe is a 3 parter, but they are all easy. First part, the spring greens.

Take about 3 tablespoons of olive oil and put it in a bowl. add a pinch of salt, a few grinds of black pepper, a pinch of the garlic and a little lemon zest. mix together well. Take a handful of spring greens and toss it in this dressing. Hold aside.

Next, the tilapia. Pat the filets dry. Take a couple drops of olive oil and rub on each side. Dredge in the breadcrumbs. Pan fry with butter until golden brown and firm.

Finally, the sauce. Take about a quarter cup of mayonnaise, add about a quarter teaspoon of minced garlic and thin out with lemon juice until the consistency of a salad dressing.

The finished product - on a large plate, put the dressed spring greens in the middle. Lay the two tilapia filets on top in a V shape with the middle on top of the spring greens. Drizzle the mayo dressing over the fish and the plate. Garnish with some green herb (preferably minced parsley) and a decorative lemon curl.Does anyone have a quick, easy, and light recipe for tilapia??

Melt butter in pan. Dust fish with salt and garlic powder. Brown it in the butter. Can't get much easier than that.
fry it in butter%26amp; garlic until cooked, meanwhile heat up your favorite Mexican Salsa and pour over the fish judt prior to serving
Just saute in olive oil, very fast, add lemon, tasty.
Try this,it's really great tasting.

I love to put my fish in foil, butter, garlic and salt and pepper. Throw it in the oven for about 10 minutes and the steam just cooks it right up. Yummy.
Crispy Fillet of Fish with

Cream of Wheat Coating

I will cut my kids portions into strips, like 'fish sticks' -- but they're healthier fish sticks! They love them.

4 fillets of Tilapia or Flounder

1 cup cream of wheat -- not instant

2 teaspoons kosher salt

1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper

1/2 teaspoon ground white pepper

olive oil

tartar sauce (optional)

Mix the cream of wheat with salt and peppers, place in a shallow dish (for coating fish)

Coat each fillet on both sides with cream of wheat mixture.

Cooking option 1: Pan-Fry fish in about 1/2 '; of olive oil until cooked through and golden brown. (about 3 minutes on each side, depending on the thickness of the filet.)

Cooking option 2: Place coated files on Silpat, spray with olive oil and roast at 425 degrees until done (about 15 minutes, depending on the thickness of the filet.)

Serve warm with a dollop of tarter sauce on the side. Perfect served with rice pilaf or brown rice and string beans.
Rub the fish with lemon juice and lemon pepper and some light breading, bake and serve!
INGREDIENTS:

1 to 1 1/2 pounds tilapia fillets

2/3 cup flour

3/4 cup plain bread crumbs

1/4 cup cornmeal

1/2 teaspoon Creole seasoning

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon dried parsley flakes

1/2 teaspoon dried leaf thyme, crumbled

2 large eggs

2 tablespoons milk

2 to 3 tablespoons melted butter, optional

PREPARATION:

Rinse tilapia fillets with cold water; pat dry.

Put flour in a shallow bowl or plate.

In another shallow bowl or pie plate, combine bread crumbs, cornmeal, seasonings, and herbs.

In another shallow bowl or pie plate, whisk eggs with cream or milk.

Dip fillets into the flour, then into the egg mixture, then dip in seasoned crumb mixture.

Place on a baking sheet sprayed with butter-flavored nonstick cooking spray. If desired drizzle each fillet with a little melted butter.

Bake at 400掳 for 10 to 15 minutes, or until fish flakes easily with a fork.

Serves 4 to 6.
You can buy ready though (sheets) at the supermarket and the package has recipes on the back.
have it covered with bassil and cook it whith olive oil, tastes really really good and it is very healthy and light, and gourmet!
This is my favorite fish and favorite LIGHT way to prepare:

Lay the fish fillets in shallow pan.

Sprinkle a dash of YOUR favorite spices (inc. salt %26amp; pepepr) - dill is pretty good on fish.

Lay thinly sliced lemon slices on top or sprinkle some lemon juice on the fillets

Pour a scant 1/4 cup white wine around the fish.

Bake at 400 until fish is done - about 15 minutes.

Very light and tasty!

ENJOY!
I like it cajun style - grill 'er up with butter, a splash of lemon juice, parsley %26amp; red pepper...Mmm~Boy !
yes start with whipped margine in a fry pan over medium place fish in pan add 1 can ROTEL chopped tomatoes/etc. alittle garlic and put lid on pan turn once or twice til fish is done serve with ranch style beans and steamed rice.

Or Put aluminum foil over cookie sheet place fish on top of foil cut or put whipped margerine on fish sprinkle with garlic, basil, lemon and broil til done.

Or Put fish in microwave container with butter/margerine, italian dreesing or just a little water and what ever flavors you want on fish , place paper towels over container and cook 3-4 mins cooking times vary depending on amount of fish and microwave
get about 3-4 green onions and mince or slice them very thin

cover the bottom of a pan with olive oil, add half a tablespoon of butter, add some lemon juice in

i like to sprinkle a little tony catcheries seasoning on the fish, it gives it a little bit of spice and has salt, pepper, a little cayenne, onion and garlic in it, im from new orleans but i think they have it in stores everywhere now

sautee the fish and these ingredients together for a few minutes until done, remove the fish to a plate and turn the stove down

boil up some angel hair pasta

lastly take a little white wine (half a cup or so) and pour it into the pan, and reheat it then scrape the botton of the pan, let the wine reduce (evaporate) by about half, you can now pour this over the pasta and fish and it will have a nice light white wine/olive oil sauce

good luck
filet the fish or ideally get your fishmounger to do so for you. slice some waxy potatoes (charlotte are good), drizzle in good olive oil and season, bake in a hot oven until lightly golden, remove and allow to cool, meanwhile roughly chop some assorted mushrooms, meaty ones if possible and fry in some olive oil until coloured, then remove from the heat and add a knob of butter and stir. Add the potato to the mushroom and lightly stir through without breaking up the spuds, adding lots of chopped parsley. Pour this into an oven dish and cover with the fish skin side up, bake for about 8-10 minutes in the oven. The fish will be nicely steamed and will have leaked some of its juices onto the veg. serve with crusty bread.
